How To Deal With 4th Grade Science Homework: Ideas From A Straight-A Student

Your teachers can advise you until they are blue in the face. However, with the best will in the world you are always going to see them as that authority figure. The adult, that is there to ensure that you learn. That is why it is often better to turn to someone who has experienced first-hand the difficulties faced when attempting to deal with your 4th grade science homework. Luckily, most of the time I found my homework easy to complete and managed to get straight A’s.

Here is my advice:

Draw pictures in your head

Often when I find something particularly challenging or difficult I draw pictures in my head to try and figure it out. Having a visual, mental image is way better than having to process tons of scientific facts. Drawing is cool. It is fun and I never felt like I was particularly doing homework when I was able to study this way. Obviously, at some stage you have to convert the images into answers…but it does help!

Learn from your mistakes

No-one is perfect. While mistakes can be devastating when we make them, they can also provide us with an excellent opportunity for us to learn and grow. When your science paper has been marked, don’t be afraid to ask your teacher to walk you through your errors. By doing this, you should hopefully begin to fill gaps in your understanding and avoid making the same mistakes over and over again.

Ensure you complete it on time

Getting into the habit of handing your homework in on time will stand you in good stead for essential life experiences later on. Not only that but it will HONESTLY give you a sense of satisfaction that you won’t get by leaving it to the last minute. Rushing it is a recipe for disaster. The more time that you have to complete it, the more chance you have of becoming that straight A student that you long to be.

Try and view your homework as an extension of the school day

Rather than becoming cross or grumpy about the fact that you have a homework assignment that needs to be handed in, try viewing it as a positive experience. Straight A Students don’t gripe about the amount of time spent studying. In fact, they positively relish it. They embrace each and every opportunity that they get.
